The food was good, but nothing to rave about. But the experience was fantastic. There was no table available when we arrived so they sat us at a temporary table where we received a glass of complimentary wine while we waited. The love music was spectacular and the service was outstanding! Would definitely recommend this historic restaurant for anyone in Budapest, but you should probably make a reservation.

We chose this place last minute at night before going to bed without hesitation from review in here. We were satisfied with food (except salad was simple), atmosphere, and musicians. We recommend to dine here and enjoy your meal

Great restaurant. It is said to be the oldest in Pest (since 1831). The building itself is even older. I loved the Christmas decor and the food was decent. I wouldn't say it was the best food in Budapest, but it was ok. The wait staff were excellent and the atmosphere wonderful. The mushroom soup and the goulash soup were great. The goose liver was very soft - it depends on whether you like it soft or a bit more grilled whether you like it. The perch was great.

The Szazeves Restaurant , oldest Restaurant of Pest has lovely ambience .The food is great and very tasty. We had a for sharing meal and it is a big serving. The place was built hundred years ago, we surely recommend that you pay a visit at the restaurant. It is best after taking the boat cruise just walk a few meters and you will find this place.

Totally recommendable. Super tasty food, very typical Hungarian dishes. Nice service, very attentive and helpful with the foreigners. Very good value for money. If you're around don't miss it. Only "but" were there flies... There were a few at times \u200d️

The restaurant itself is worth coming and the food is delicious. Price is reasonable. But, i guess the server need to be more friendly. Customer service is a bit of turn off. To restaurant owner, please take note. I wish i can accord your restaurant 3 stars rating if only your waiter is polite and responsive enough.

This is the oldest restaurant in Pest - I would check it out! I have been really looking for a dark beer and they had an excellent option. I had stuffed cabbage and the pork melted in my mouth. Amazing flavor! My husband had chicken paprickish, which was also wonderful. The desert was a shortbread with nuts, amoretto-cream sauce-wow! check this place out!

A little off the main tourist street, Vaci utca. Wow never knew tomato salad could be so good. Duck breast a bit overdone, just ask them for medium rare. Goulash decent.
