The food is amazing! We have nothing to complain about, we ordered all different types of dumplings they have on the menu, and I have to say they are extremely delicious! Everything were fresh made when we ordered it, hot, fresh and steamy. We also order big pot of jasmine tea tho! The tea was also very aromatic, highly recommended! If you go to Budapest and looking for a good Asian restaurant! Highly recommend Shanghai House, it is a must go!

Nice boss from Shanghai . Beef noodle is a must try, but don’t order bubble milk tea - it’s a joke. Desert is hand made and only cook upon order.

everything is handmade! not the factory rubbish you usually get. bubble tea is very good

Very limited menu, the food wasn’t very authentic but ok. The belly pork was super dry. The food came out weirdly so that by the time we got our rice half the meat dishes were already cold. The rice was clumpy and old tasting. Our dumplings never arrived but they charged us for it, even when I told them. I gave up trying to explain and just paid because I wanted to get out.

Terrible! Service is horrible, stood next to us without saying a word, seemed pressurising us to place order. Long face when serving dishes, what is wrong with the waitress? Food is yuck! Soup noodle is not hot! Dumplings are like raw due to the thick pastry! Attached photos show clearly that we cannot finish anything, too yucky though!

As a Chinese, I can definitely say that this is very authentic Chinese food. Perhaps some people thought it wasn't because the food originates from shanghai whereas most people would be used to Chinese food from Szechuan or Hong Kong etc. I would recommend the noodle soup for sure, and would say probably it's the best one in Budapest. The noodles are so springy and the soup broth is soo flavourful. The owner told me that they cooked the broth for hours prior to serving and the noodles are made freshly everyday. The dumplings are really tasty too. The food is also very good value too

I had the dumplings and cold meat slices with beef fried rice. The cold meat reminded me of roast beef with a strong but not overly spicy sauce. The dumplings are obviously homemade I preferred them without the provided vinegar based sauce. And the fried rice is quite large and enough to share. I will be coming back for sure
