Great museum for Hungarian history. In most of the rooms there are English translations, but some are missing. You can see how the empire transformed into today’s Hungary. The modern history could have be covered with more details. I liked a lot the old Soviet tank at the museum entrance.

It would be nice to get a clear route where to start and finish. Lot's of interesting information and pieces from Hungarian battles and wars. The rooms are well organized and not overstuffed with items.
Very good museum with many artifacts including vehicles, weaponry and uniforms. Staff is very friendly and willing to explain/converse about the history of the 20th century that has shaped Hungary throughout the decades. Do not hesitate to ask the staff about the WW1/WW2 weaponry as they know a lot about the mechanical/operational features of them.
My 9yr old daughter and I made this our first stop while in Budapest (October 2019) It was a close walk from our hotel in Buda. My daughter had just started learning about WW2 at school, so she found it fascinating. Loved the uniforms, tank, canons, weapons and displays. Spent about 3 hours there but would have stayed longer if we had more time.
Quite nice military museum, focused mainly on wall displays. Ideal for faleristics and uniform seekers. In the court you will find some artillery pieces. Cheap tickets. i recommend it!
Really nice gem that didn't seem that well visited. Broad range of uniforms and equipment for the ones interested in Hungarian military history.
This is a fantastic museum. The rich military history is well covered. My 9yr old daughter loved seeing the weapons, uniforms and the clever displays. The tank outside and the canons were also a favourite. We were on a tour of Europe and our tour was not scheduled to visit this museum, so am am very pleased we got to see it before leaving Budapest.
Very nice military museum, with a lot of specific rooms.
