This 6 story library was designed by architects Mihály Balázs and his colleague Dávid Török. The library is located at remote-undeveloped part of the city so it didn't had to match with other buildings. Most significant and interesting thing about the library is the "beehive" at the center of the library which emerges from the basement floor to the top. This beehive structure represents the ideological center and permanence. Which is a place of abstract thinking: a metaphor for the freedom of knowledge and also, in reverse, for the knowledge of freedom. The inner surface of beehive is designed by ceramic artist Martá Nagy with ceramics from Zsolnay porcelain. Architects response to for a knowledge center was not on a concrete, permanently changing knowledge but on the possibility of thinking: in-other-words, an empty space which can be filled with the thoughts of the people in it.

Really good place and looks modern. Unfortunately, there are only Hungarian books here. Of you're looking for books written in English, then you have to the library of your own faculty.
Beautiful place. I have never seen such well-organized library before.
Very pleasant place for studying you literally can spend the whole day there. A few meters there is a supermarket so you can buy food and study.
can't get in to use internet for a day unless signing up for 2000 forint for half a year
One of my absolute favourite places in Pécs. Its architecture is far more advanced than the rest of the town. Serene, peaceful, safe & modern. It has a beautiful park & a highly advanced music hall nearby.
I am fully satisfied. Thank you
One of the best libraries in Hungary, I love it although I live in Budapest, but I was in Pécs for couple months
