Thieves. The change is 1 for 325 Magyar currency. They give you 256... ridiculous that the police or the central bank does not control this. The Exchange one offers way better fares at 315. Just look for Exchange on google maps. Very close to Mc Donald’s, seems very shady, but on the contrary it’s the honest change rate you will find.

I went to the branch at the Fisherman's Bastion and they had the exchange rate over 28%. They gave me 25,000 HUF for 100 Euros when considering the bank rate, I would have paid only 78 Euros. I understand that they are a business, but charging over 28% comparing with the bank rate? That is stealing money from tourists, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS, withdraw local currency from the ATM....I did not do it because I was not familiar with the HUF and it cost me 22 Euros!....BTW, they say no commission, what a joke!
Trickster is working here. She never speaks or explains how much money will be charged. But once you give her the money, it will return back with 80% exchange rate. I begged her to cancel the deal, but she only wagged her head. I want to give minus star, but I'm very sorry that I should give at least one star. NEVER GO HERE!!
Horrible exchange rate. Lose 10-15% if exchanging cash or 15-20% if you use their ATM. Highly dishonest business.
If we can give 0 I would! Definitely crooks in airport and outside! Do NOT use. They take a HUGE service fee! Like 25%. You can find in town better exchange rate. Avoid!
Last week I exchanged some euros and the rate was 23% worse than around the corner. I went back inmediatelly to cancell the transaction and the refused. Absolute thieves. Do not go there!!!
This review concerns receiving Western Union money in Budapest. Not changing money generally. This is one of the ONLY 24 hour locations to receive Western Union transfers (if eg your wallet is stolen) in Budapest. The woman who served me tonight spoke perfect English and was a consummate professional. I actually really liked her. However, be advised of the following: -Though this location is open all night, it shuts down for 20 minutes at a time when the employees take scheduled breaks. For example, no one can serve you between 11:50PM-12:15AM I believe. So plan for this. -Western Union in Hungary is more bureaucratic than in many countries. Make sure you know the full name of the sender, the US state sent from (if you're receiving funds from America), the amount you are supposed to receive in the original currency AND forints, and your mother's maiden name! -There is a common scam in Budapest where currency exchangers give you back less money than what is printed on the receipt. Count your change CAREFULLY. In this case, after the teller told me she could offer me a *better* exchange rate than Western Union's (which she did!!), she still gave me about 10,000 HUF LESS than what was printed on the receipt she gave! This is a huge amount of money relative to my transaction size and Hungarian prices. It was late at night when this transaction happened, and, if I hadn't counted my change very carefully I could have easily missed this. So go here to accept Western Union if you need a late night service - you will get a great rate and great customer service - BUT count the money you get back carefully!!!!
Truly ripping tourists of their money. Never change from this chain outlet.
