IMRO-DDKK Nonprofit Ltd. was founded in 2009 with the aim of providing effective support to local environment-friendly policies and initiatives through carrying out informal, outdoor training and educational activities to raise awareness on topics such as the protection of the environment, the promotion of renewable energy sources and energy efficient solutions. IMRO-DDKK also implements activities which foster the environmentally conscious thinking by applying sustainable lifestyle education methods. Our organisation has participated in numerous EU-funded projects (Austrian-Hungarian Cross-border Cooperation Program, EuropeAid and Erasmus+ Programmes). In the frame of these projects IMRO-DDKK has organised and performed a series of events including outdoor activities, lectures, courses and campaigns for awareness-raising, as well as developed and assembled training thematic materials. With the help of these projects we were able to directly reach and involve thousands of members of our target groups including the local government decision-makers, educators, kindergarten children, pupils, students and parents, as well as other professionals and enterprises in the field. In addition, the company has a number of references in the field of energy efficiency refurbishment of residential, public and other private buildings. That way, IMRO-DDKK has contributed to save more than 40% of the energy costs in thousands of apartments. IMRO-DDKK also provides technical and operational support to Nagykanizsa's joint work with the Climate Alliance. The company operates the sustainability consultant office in Nagykanizsa, which provides technical advice for the entire population, the municipalities and educational institutions and enterprises on how to live and work in a sustainable way. The company is member of the Hungarian Energy Efficiency Institute (MEHI) and in February 2015 joined the European Climate Alliance.
