ICON Budapest within Hilton Hotel is one of the most romantic restaurants for an upscale dinner date in the Hungarian Capital. Take your time for a stroll around the enchanting UNESCO World Heritage Site Winding cobbled Buda Castle District: ICON is right above the picturesque Fisherman’s Bastion right next to Matthias Church. Please take the parking ticket obtained at the gates to be validated at the hotel reception. My menu: Salmon Slices Marinated with Citrus, Fruits, Chives Cream (4200 HUF), Crayfish Soup with Coconut Milk (2200 HUF), Roasted Cod Fillet, Jasmine Rice with Pine Nuts, Vegetables and Saffron Sauce (5300 HUF), “Somló” Mille-Feuille (1600 HUF). Restaurant clients enjoy complimentary parking in the first 3 hours around the hotel.

The best thing about this restaurant is the amazing view of the Parliament. The service is good but even that feels somehow over the top considering how dated the food is. The dishes were pleasant enough but definitely not fine dining, neither in presentation nor flavour. We eat out a lot in Budapest and there is plenty of fine dining to be had in the city, just not here. Will not be coming be back.
Exhibits the worst habits of hotel restaurants. Food was bland, uninspired, and the menu is padded out with 'Hilton Classics', which is like listing the "funniest natural disasters". Staff is lovely and polite, but they cannot save a menu designed for the lowest common denominator of palettes. Save yourself the trouble and walk a couple blocks in either direction to pay less money for better eats. Budapest is a beautiful city with great food and culture - but the Icon is not within either of these categories. If it wasn't inside a Hilton and didn't have the magnificent view from the window it would've gone out of business a long time ago.
The Icon restaurant is the restaurant of the Hotel Hilton, in the castle district. It is surrounded by many tourist attractions like the Fisherman's Bastion. The food was really great, the people working here were most professional.
As someone else mentioned, it is a little pricey, but the food and the view do not disappoint! I had the duck leg confit with duck liver and vanilla sour cherry ragout and a side of rice with forrest mushrooms, it was outstanding. The house Merlot was very good and the coffee at the end was just right.
Tamas and gyorgos (likely misspelt his name) were incredible. Best view and lovely service. Perfect evening
Very good, friendly service, 80s design...
