The Hungarian Association of British Alumni (HABA) is a non-profit organisation that caters to all UK university alumni in Hungary since 1994, in close cooperation with the British Embassy in Budapest and university-specific alumni groups. The Association was originally established for those who received scholarships to study in the UK, most importantly Chevening scholars. Now, it is open to alumni from all UK universities. Our members come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds, from energy industry to banking, academia, technology, marketing, law, and public administration. We have an active membership of approximately 100 people. In the past 20 years, HABA has been active in organising lectures, talks and social events, and undertook projects like the Visegrád4 project of knowledge sharing. Our Patron is Her Majesty's Ambassador to Hungary, HE Ian Lindsay OBE.
