Their cute look aside, Freshka toys are special because they do have personalities (and names, of course), from the moment of their birth. Zachary, the zebra with colorful stripes, was followed by Gerald, the giraffe, Rupert, the rabbit, Felix, the fox and lots and lots of others. By now, the entire collection consists of 30 toy animals. Their names and their huggable shapes immediately make them family members, becoming inseparable companions of children as well as adults. Freshka Design was launched in 2010, when founder Andrea Donner, designer made herself busy by painting unique pictures to the walls of kids’ rooms. The characters she used were all her own designs. While painting walls, she couldn’t stop thinking that Freshka was more than just paintings or drawings – it gradually evolved to become a word on its own! That’s when Andi asked her co-founder Tünde Mike, to create the first crochet-figure: Zebulon. The joy of working together and the early success of Zebulon proved that Freshka, indeed, was more than just paintings: the fall of 2012 saw the debut of the first crochet-collection of Freshka Design. “Zebulon and friends” have, by now, developed a substantial fan-base, with smore than 6000 Facebook followers. The team also made its international launch at the Baby Expo in Vienna, last year. From then on, Freshka continues to receive orders from the entire region. The two young designers aimed to create soft, unique and adorable characters, using raw materials that make Freshka toys truly suitable for all ages. That’s why they use 100% cotton thread, stuffing their toys with 100% foamed polystyrene. The materials used guarantee that all of the toys are washable and that they are suitable for newborn babies, too.
