Very confusing place! I've been to hundreds of museums and, apart from Budapest, never felt so lost The room are not numbered, you are provided with a "map" and good luck finding your way with that, I'm sure I missed a lot of the exhibition because the curation is so chaotic In terms of artefacts there is hardly anything here, a few marble elements and some limestone allegedly from the 15th century, I don't know if those are replica or originals The staff hardly know any foreign languages so they will not be able to help with anything, the price of the ticket at 10 freaking euros if you want to take pictures is outrageous

Visit The Hungarian National Gallery is an unforgettable experience. It is well known that Budapest is full of museums and galleries, as well as many temporary exhibitions in different categories. That was the way this time. In the National Gallery was the exhibition of artwork from Frida Kahlo. We were thrilled. The building of the Hungarian National Gallery - located in several wings of the Buda Castle - is a stunning piece of art, as are the views over the city and the river Danube from the Dome terrace. Seeing the masterpieces of Hungarian fine arts offering insights into the history of Hungary, every-day life and rural landscapes through beautiful paintings, everyone can only delight, as we are. There is also a collection of masterpieces of international art. From the time of the Baroque and Renaissance. Art lovers can easily spend half a day here because of a handful of works of art.

Cool museum/labyrinth of hidden spots. During my visit there was an amazing exhibition about the Nomadic peoples. Super cool

Very informative and clear exhibitions and information on the history of the castle. Not the clearest layout with the entrance on -2 level and the maps showing each exhibition up on 1 and 2 levels. The whole thing feels like it peters out as you head upstairs but the gothic statue collection and the ‘1000 years of Budapest’ exhibit upstairs are worth it.

Lots of walking to get to but the views are breathtaking from the top of the mountain.

The experience will be more enriched if the Museum was opened. Unfortunately during my visit it's closed. My pictures are all from outside the premises. I must say that the place is as grand as to hold a museum inside. So the ratings are based only on the surrounding areas.
