The Viking cruise ship was well maintained. Had a very experienced Chef who prepared sumptuous meals. Most land tours were price inclusive, and the staff was very amiable.

An expensive trip. Very disappointing overall. Especially given that the company obviously knew well in advance that there was no way they were going to be able to give us the ‘two weeks, one ship’ experience we’d paid for (90 days in advance- no full refund after that date). Aside from the 3 hour plus bus-hops between ports that we were forced to take, the overnight tie ups with ships either side (instead of cruising along being able to see where we were headed) took away from the experience we were so looking forward to. Lack of Viking staff to assist with the enforced changes to our cruise means that we will definitely never cruise with this company again. Overall we felt we were not made to feel ‘special guests’ in any sense of the word.
Took the ride from Passau, Germany down to Budapest. Highlights: Viking is TOP SHELF in their customer service, food, and planning. We are going to Normandy next year, and look forward to another fantastic experience. The trip itself is fascinating, and takes you to places most people have only read about-Vienna, Melk, Czech Republic (if you choose to take an extra trip), Bratislava, and Budapest. The off-ship tours are all First Class. The pace is just right, and if you want to experience the \quieter side of sightseeing\ then you will value Viking and their various destinations. The prices are comparable to other lines. We were very impressed by the level of professionalism of the crew. They all consider themselves as representatives of the Company from the lodging staff to the engine room mechanics. We were very impressed, and will continue to go Viking.
