It is very interesting statue. It looks like the policeman is observing people around and it is fun rubbing his belly for good luck and making some photos as well.

A worthwhile visit to the city center to see this statue! Not a lot of ppl know of it or it's history

Traditionally every person who has his or her photo taken next to the fat policeman statue instinctively touches the shiny belly... myth says if you touch or rub the stomach of the statue you won’t gain any weight and/or have good luch, it’s worth a go :-) The statue is situated near the river on the Pest side. A good photo op.

Comical statue with a shiny belly. Right beside him is a great little Langosh place.

Its close enough to other tourist attractions that you can also fit this in. However it is just a statue.

The history says that if you touch it's belly you will loose weight. I am still waiting ....

Walking down on Vaci street, is a strange statue of fat policeman. Everybody was touching his belly and moustaches, probably it brings good luck?
