Avoid, especially in winter. First you can get up there with public bus 16, second there are two companies now calling them \official\ (blue cars and red cars), this makes the \officiality\ a bit questionable Third, in winter you won't really see anything because of the plastic stripes they use to make these golf cars bearable at zero degrees.. May be useful in some cases though, like a hot summer day, a very long queue to the funicular, and you don't have a ticket for the public transport.

I had a good experience with the service. The buses came frequently, they were comfortable. And it was easy to get to the castle hill since there was a very long line for the funicular.
Everything was good, until one driver started being rude and speak back to us, it ruined the moment, we were on vacation and try to enjoy the ride and stops, we spoke with some employees and complain, they were nice and caring.
This is a con and waste of time and money. They try and sell you an electric bus for the price of the funicular, but looking back it's wrong. Of course you should prefer a 140 year old funicular over a golf cart. We ended up walking down the winding hill in only a few minutes since we couldn't be bothered waiting for the next \bus\ to arrive. My suggestion- pay for a one way experience on the funicular and walk down the hill. You'll even end up saving money!!!
My family and I were harrassed by one of their racist salespeople after rejecting his offer/deal. Apprently our skin and eye color is not light enough to be citizens of a European country. I will be posting images and the full story soon. Avoid at any cost.
We got cheated by an ukrainian guy (in official company clothing at lower castle hill funicular stop)who sold us also a boat trip which had no value at the docks.Apparently we where not the only ones as there was another group of tourists at the docks with the same type of tickets.
Such a bad experience! for us, the worst of Budapest, without a doubt. They didn't inform us about the timetable, the commercial lie to us and sold us tickets knowing that we didn't have time to see the castle and return. My advice is: Better save your money and use other option.
This service is okay to get to the castle, maybe the church. At the tower, however, I watched along with 30 others as 10 buses went by with no one getting off. We asked them to call an empty bus each time and they said they would. Finally, 45 minutes later, enough people had already walked down and enough empty seats left us able to get a ride, but still not everyone that had been waiting boarded. Ridiculous. You can't run a service like this and strand your customers.
