This memorial is made of black granite which is fractured in several places. Look close up and you can see gold paint on the inside. The glistening of the paint is supposed to serve as a reminder of the fire in a crematorium. The memorial dedicated to the Roma murdered during the Second World War. The persecution of Hungarian Roma by Hungarians is often overlooked as it happened at the same time as the mass murder of Jews.
