Seeing this church is something fascinating. It does not leave anyone indifferent, it's simply beautiful. It is definitely not like other churches. Budapest is full of attractive sites that attract tourists from around the world. Among them is this beautiful church, the church of St. Matthias (Mátyás Templom). The church was built by King Istvan in 1015. The real name of this church is the church of Our Lady, but it is often used as the church name of St. Matthias. It was named in the 15th century by King Matthias. He renewed the church, and he married twice in this church. It is located on the side of Buda and next to the Fisherman's Bastion. The atmosphere is beautiful inside the church and outside the church. The interior of the church is a blend of styles from the 13th to the 19th centuries. The church has become a traditional church for royal wedding, but also for crowning. It is very nice and worth visiting. We enjoyed every step.

It’s an absolutely marvellous church, I find both parts, the exterior and the interior, just amazing, there’s so much work done there that you don’t know where to look, everything is so eye-catching that you could spend hours inside looking at every little detail. Highly recommended.

My last visit here was special. It was raining cats and dogs. This decreased the amount of tourists and made it, surprisingly, the most beautiful visit so far. An old Hungarian man was playing accordion next to us, which made the raining view an absolutely magical moment.

Absolutely stunning. So many different places within this church to explore. Lots to learn and lots to see within the church as well. Hope to be back here again someday. If you’re in the area it’s a must see.
