One of my favorite bars. It had a local vibe and has a place to dance or post up at the bar. Stumbled to this one by accident but my friends and I loved it and look forward to coming back
Went on Sunday to play the open mic. It was like a dream come true, though the mulled wine also went to my head. The audience was great!!! I played until my mouth was so dry I had to get off stage for some liquid refreshment. And guess what? The host bought me a drink!!! Thanks for a great night out. It's really wonderful when the biggest challenge of the evening is finding the bathroom.
Evoking the mood of the plethora of ruin bars nearby yet keeping its own local identity, this classic cellar on Dob utca has been welcoming all-comers for 15 years. A rare (the only?) bar in Budapest to stay open on Christmas Eve, a tradition dating back to some seasonal tale of romantic upset, Lámpás allows its musical agenda to stray from a regular diet of rock, blues, jazz and funk into experimental electronica. An open mind and an open heart underscore all activities here, equally illustrated by affordable drinks prices and free admission.
It’s not possible to see this place even half empty. They are offering drinks at very decent prices, live music depending on the occasion and lively atmosphere. Most of the people (who are not able to fit inside) prefer drinking outside, in front of the pub. Great place to socialize with your friends or locals.
Cute and quirky old basement bar. Prices aren’t bad, the staff are nice and their is live music quite often.
