Love this spa! Clean & newly renovated. Well hidden gem, and not overcrowded like other spas in Budapest. It is smaller than Rudas or similar, but that’s what makes it even better in my opinion. I would highly recommend to come in advance, before opening at 3pm, as they seem to let in only certain amount of ppl, which I think is great, so people can actually enjoy the experience.

This must be one of Budapest’s best kept secrets and is one of the oldest Turkish baths in the city located just south of the river danube. The hot springs feeding the thermal pools rise from the wells of the nearby Lukács Baths and from Margaret Island. The waters, rich in calcium, magnesium, hydrogen-carbonate, sulfate and sodium, with a significant content of fluoride ions, are recommended to help cure degenerative illnesses of joints, chronic and semi-acute arthritis, spinal problems and post-injury healing. As someone who suffers with chronic pain, I really benefited from spending a few days here. Entrance prices are reasonable plus the massages were very reasonably priced and excellent. Spotlessly clean with every type of jet or hydro pool and steam jet showers and saunas. This had everything I needed for some kind of healing. A little difficult to locate as it’s inside a hospital with a hotel. Nice little friendly unassuming cafeteria for warm drinks after. Highly recommend it!️️️️
Lovely Turkish bath hidden in a hospital building. Newly reconstructed, very clean and comfortable. We loved the main thermal pool area and scented steam cabins (especially the blue one). We recommend to come on the weekday afternoon (they open at 3pm), there will be almost nobody and you can enjoy the facility just by yourself.
Take tram to Komjadi Bela stop. You will see hotel Csazsar with international flags hanged around entrance. I stopped and asked for entrance to Veli Bej. It's not easy to find. In fact its located right next to historical Szent Lukacs Gyogyfurdo. You will walk around the building through outside corridor and bath is located in newly remodeled hospital centre on your left. It's all glass, modern building with cafeteria entrance. I was disappointed, expected old turkish bath feel . Not here. Very modern open spaces with large relaxing areas, lounges with beds and chairs scattered around. Lots of glass hallways, glass ceiling and l felt like walking through museum wearing a wet bathing suit ,shivering because place was too cold for me. Bath it self is nice, water is warm clean. Saunas are this tiny individual rooms for 2 Max 3 people. Steam rooms weren't warm enough for me. Changing room was chaos. In despite of signes it was coed. Even showers. Random man walked through women's showers. You get locker with magnetic key bracelet. Many Russian speakers. Place is open from 9-21 in 3h intervals. I paid around 3000huf for entrance. Bring bathing suits, wet shoes. Very few visitors during week days.
Definitely one of the lesser known thermal baths in Budapest, so maybe let this be our little secret. A tram station is close by on the rear side
Absolutely loved this place. Not the biggest spa but not so crowded, newly renovated and very clean. There is even a cafe you can visit directly from the spa. But this cafe is open from the street as well so it might get a little weird sitting in swimming suit next to a guy in an actual suit.
I spent a lot longer than I thought I would completing several circuits in the baths. Going from cold water, to warm water, and then to the saunas, etc. Even though it’s the oldest bath, they seem to have renovated in recent years since everything seemed clean and fairly new. The atmosphere is beautiful and I was a bit nervous going since I read bad reviews of the process. However, they exceeded my expectations as the front counter spoke English and it was super simple to use the baths. I brought cash, but it looks like they may accept credit cards as well.
This lesser known Turkish bath is a real gem. It is supposed to be the oldest and largest of the Turkish bath in Budapest.
