I visted this place for tennis today 16.09.2018 as I wanted to see what tennis places look like and feel like in Budapest. This place is listed on google as Flamenco Club, but on the building there is a big sign showing Park Club.I parked outside the club, walked in , no- one asked me anything, I walked further on the club' s terrace where about 20-25 people seemed to have something to eat and drink.
Walked further to the end courts where a coaching lesson seemed to take place. Immediately that I sat on the benches provided, a lady in her fourties came towards me, and looking elsewhere talked to me in Hungarian. I said sorry, could we speak English, French or German, but this lady did not speak any of that. From her words I understood that I was not wanted to visit, and still not making eye contact, she invited me out of the place. I tried to explain that I wish to visit and asked if I could. Unfortunately, again looking elsewhere, she somehow made understand that is not possible. Leading me on the way out, a young man sitting on a bench started talking to me in a broken English, saying that I could not visit, nor stay at all and as hecwas talking, he kept looking at the Wimbledon badge from my rucksac...
Oh well, they do not speak anything other than hungarian here, but they, or at least somebody knew of Wimbledon !
I felt disgusted and there was no point in taking the conversation further to say for instance that I was a highly qualified tennis coach and this is why during my visit in Budapest I was there, to take the pulse of tennis in Budapest.
Well, my friends reading this, I will never go Flamengo or Park Tennis Club, whatever its name is again, as THE PULSE WAS ZERO ! I advise you to try somewhere else in Budapest. Me, not again !
If you go to decent tennis place anywhere in thecworld, they will surely give you someone to show you arround. Not here , no !
