Fantastic experience using this wonderful cogwheel train to visit Budapest mountain. You will feel like step back in time with the old travelling style. The train is beautiful, clean and comfortable. In the winter you will be amazed with the scene covered in white snow. It looks like getting lost in a fairy land. Magical view and so peaceful. At the end of cogwheel train line, you can continue discover the mountain with children train which operates by children.

The cogwheel train is quite a unique experience if you want to visit the hillside area. You can use your public transport tickets, no extra money needed. It has a nostalgic feeling, just like you go about 30 years back in time. Tips: - In winter time, go if there is snow otherwise the route has quite a lot of rubbish around, people don't care their home it seems. There are some abandoned houses too, not the best looking. - Beautiful in summer time, fresh air and good to be away from the buzzing city - Great for a day out

This is definitely one of the highlights of Budapest. If you plan to visit Normafa, I advise you taking this cog-wheel railway instead of the regular buses. The panorama is spectacular, especially in the winter. Don't miss it!

It was a fun ride and was interesting to see the houses up in the hills. It's also a good way to get to the children's railway.
