Cheap and delicious food. I had the goulash soup and it was amazing! The staff is very nice and they can speak English very well. I came during lunchtime and it wasn't very crowded.
I stopped into this restaurant by chance as I was walking in the rain. For a spur of the moment decision, it was a good one. The staff were very friendly and allowed me plenty of time to make a decision as to my food choices, whilst making sure a local beer was to hand. The Goulash was really tasty and the lical butcher made sausage was great too. All in all, a very enjoyable experience and if I was back in Budapest again in the future, I woukd come here again.
Horrific! That’s about the only thing I could say about this place. We started with a goulash soup which was “okay” (after adding pepper and salt) to say at most. I had better tasting canned ones.. Our main courses were chicken paprikash and pork clod grilled with mustard and potato salad, with a Greek salad on the side. And this is where it hit us: we should have opted for a different restaurant. The chicken was DRY and the paprikash sauce tasteless, the noodles tasted like rubber blobs that were sticking to each other. The pork clod could have been tasty if prepared properly, this was cooked to tire-toughness. The potato salad it’s being served with was decent. Me and my friend aren’t picky eaters, but we didn’t even finish half our plates. We left with an upset stomach and went home, which eventually turned out to be the best decision. Let’s put it this way: I’ve never been happier with the 2 toilets in our apartment! If you want to experience GOOD Hungarian food: Save your money and choose a different restaurant!!
Not a place I would recommend. We ordered a starter and main course. As starter the famous goulash soup, which was decent. Not a big WOW, but had a decent taste. As main course the Chicken paprikash with hungarian noodle, Pork clod grilled with mustard and potato salad and a Greek salad. After taking one bite, the waiter came to the table to ask if all was OK. Of course, we thought. But nothing else was true. The chicken was very dry with a tasteless sauce and the noodle was rubbery. The pork was tasteless and could have been a piece of tire instead. The potato salad and Greek salad were the only decent things of the meal, and they were clearly store bought. When the waiter asked if all was OK, after seeing unhappy faces and half-filled places, I took time to explain the salad was the only nice thing, the rest not. He took this as a compliment and walked away with a smile... \u200d️ If you would like to get a better experience, do not visit this place. If you want to end up with cramps and diarrhea for the rest of the evening, go for it and visit this place. I almost feel sorry to write this 1-star review, but people need to know what they’re getting here.
I ordered a baked chicken leg and they served me a boiled chicken leg with a couple of minutes in the grill. The goulash was a bit sour, you could tell it was not fresh at all. Will not repeat. Two stars is probably to generous
Very kind service, really fresh looking meats and delicious end result. :) And they are not dirty expensive.
Good restaurant with traditional dishes. Loved the bread bowl for the soup.
