This was the most pleasant surprise in our trip to Budapest. A tiny place that we've found online while planning the trip, which also required some effort to reach as we've required 10 minutes of circling the block until we finally spotted this teeny tiny place. We've been there twice over the course of 5 days and have picked this place as the last place to accommodate our last meal in the city before heading back home. It was incredible. The lady behind the counter was super nice, the menu and the place were beautifully designed and it was worth every euro of the ridiculously low prices we'd paid. Truly a gem.

I really enjoyed Funky Pho! There are several reasons for that: Food - delicious and very quickly served Prices - moderate and really affordable Portion sizes - big and could be shared for a couple And the last but not least is atmosphere, which in case of Funky Pho is wonderful. This is a small place, which has a lit of art inside, and a few places to sit. Really unique place, which keeps the quality on very high level. Check the pictures and definitely check the place yourself. 10/10! Recommended!

Classic Vietnamese flavors with a modern/Budapesti spin. Pho tastes familiar and not too much grease or salt. Tripe bites are delicious, but would be better over a bed of rice. Definitely recommend the dumplings. A little pricey, but very tasty!

Delicious ginger chicken pho and ginger soda. A little chili sauce really brought the flavors out. I had a craving and this hit it spot-on!

Disappointing. I had a pho, the soup was quite ok, had a bit of sweet taste which is strange for me. A generous amount of fresh coriander and spring onion came with it, that's the only reason for giving 2 stars instead of 1. But the meat... It was literally disgusting. A huge chunk of greyish meat swimming in the bottom of the soup. It was also really chewy and rough. Maybe it's just me but that's not how I like beef. The staff also shouldn't swearing loudly in the kitchen and shouldn't smoking in front of the restaurant. I don't want to smell their cigarette's smoke while I'm eating. First and last time here, there are plenty much better pho restaurants in the downtown.

Really disappointed... Soup is cooked without the ingredients which makes it just sweet and flavorless. Has nothing to do with the original pho in Vietnam where everything, except for fresh herbs, is cooked together for hours slowly...

I had an airbnb right beside this place and I always came here to eat. They're always busy with customers. Very tasty, quick, friendly and I guess funky...? Lots of vegan options and extra seasonings you can add to make it more spicy. Limited seating as it's mostly a take away place. Also if you go before they close they might have run out of popular items which I unfortunately experienced. Worth a visit or two, (or three).

I like the place! But for some reason, it really tastes a bit different than the other pho places I've been to. Can't tell which is authentic, but I admit this one is the odd one out. However you can still add a bunch of extra things to make it suit your taste. Variability is key! The spicy stuff are really good. I personally prefer the chicken pho here compared to the beef. I eat here regularly, though for some reason I'll go with 4*.
