Absolutely stunning reading rooms hidden away inside the Library. You need a special pass to get through the barriers into the main body of the library which can be purchased at the reception desk. There was a bit of confusion, no doubt aggravated by our lack of Hungarian, but we got there in the end and it was well worth it if you love grand architectural and design features fit for a palace. I can’t remember the exact price but I want to say it was maybe 7 per person?

It's in the Kevickzy utca, I couldn't go inside because of the restriction of COVID. I don't know all the details about this, giving starts on the basis of previous photos but it's not open now for Public.

This library is perfect! It has everything you need: 5 floors filled with books, free internet access, a yearly fee of less than 1 euro, books in Hungarian, English, French and some in Spanish, a friendly staff, and the ability to borrow books. My only issue is the system on the computers where you search for the books is all in Hungarian, so usually I need some assistance from people around me or I use google translate, which is not completely reliable.

I had the chance to visit this library for free, thanks to the woman at the welcome office who was very sweet as well as the staff there. This is one of the most beautiful place in Budapest, the 2 ballrooms, the smoking room and even the children section were stunning and took my breath away. The baroque style remind me a lot of the Galerie des Glaces du Chateau de Versailles that I visit ocasionally. I would definitely recommend you to go visit it if you're going to Budapest!

Such an exquisite library experience. this really is the most beautiful library in the world I think. it's like a mini Versailles and one you can get up close and personal with and actually sit in and enjoy the splendour. a little bit confusing to enter at first but do hang in there, don't give up!

This library is very unique and its located in very famous area near the Kalvin ter and it is one of Budapest's best known libraries ever existed, its easy to access and very simple to get the registration done, and the reading rooms are fantastic and nicely designed, reflecting the classical times.

Budapest is amazing. You can see so many things, but still, this place blew me away. Once you find the entrance (a bit tricky, just ask someone if you get confused), pay the tourist entry fee (find it really hard to believe that people complain about an entry fee of 2.5 dollars per person), take the elevator to the 4th floor you enter a magical world. This is how libraries should look like. Stunning and humbling (did I stumble into Hogwarts?). Reading rooms very quiet, and the interior is again, stunning.

Spectacular and well kept place. It is a pity that local students do not respect it enough and some even sleep on the sofas... For tourists, once you pay the ticket (HUF1500) and pass through the security, head directly to the 4th floor where the famous halls of the library are.
