My favorite bathhouse in Budapest. The atmosphere is excellent and unique. It has it all, different kinds of saunas a lovely wooden bathtub and so on.

Where to start..?! The baths are tucked away from the main tourist attractions but easily reached via buses or metro within 10 minutes. You feel like you are receiving an authentic thermal bath experience with the locals rather than the larger tourist traps. Price is less than half of the big spa's. I wish I had visited twice during our 4 day stay. So invigorating! Main hot pool with side pools of varying temps. Also sauna, steam room, outside hot tub, inside jacuzzi. Changing is easy, so many changing rooms (I wouldn't bother paying more for a 'cabin') and lockers. You can't take cameras / phones inside the baths - which is totally understandable as other bathers don't want to be caught on camera in their swimmers. Bathing costumes are required at all times. Definitely make this part of your trip to Budapest!

Incredible baths in a historic setting. Beautiful Ottoman dome with warm pool underneath. Cold and hot baths, steam and sauna. Perfect!

We have very fond memories of Kiraly Thermal Baths, especially as we are both students. The place is rustic and very “native”. That was exactly what we were looking for. The very generous student discount (only 2000 ft) makes this place unbeatable. Remember to take your own towel and flip flops! The age mix at the place (we went four times!) was superb. About 50% were students / people under 30 and around 30% were people over 60 - a nice rainbow of ages. Everyone, including all the staff, were very talkative, friendly and helpful.

It's an ancient Turkish bath of Ilıca type (with basins for mostly only one person). The central part, where the bathing venue is situated, remained "untouched", since the entrance, the clothing area and the basins for private bathing became rebuild in the previous centuries or even in the communist era. This bath - named after the last name of its private owner König (in Hungarian: Király) - is closed since the Spring of 2020 because of the Corona virus pandemic and for renewing purposes.

We tried to go Saturday around 16:45, but didn't want to wait around for thirty minutes for folks to (maybe) leave. So we vowed to return in the morning on Sunday, and if there was still a wait.... Well, it worked out. We got there about ten. No line, no wait. It was pretty much as advertized. Old turkish baths. One large pool, one small 40C pool for 8-10 people. Steam room, two saunas. We kept walking around trying to find the lockers, not knowing we had to go past the first aid area and the guy who appeared to be fast asleep from the time we got there until we left at noon. The only hydromassage is in the six person jacuzzi, and the water isn't that hot. I actually appreciated the old pools better. Of course, there's the 26C pool, too, but that's one I personally never use. I'm there for the heat!!! None of the structures have pools over 40C!!!
